Construction

The Flemish authorities took a decision in July 2006 to carry out the AMORAS project in the Port of Antwerp. The assignment (design & build) finally got underway on 1 October 2008.

The investments have to be completed by late September 2010 after which a 6-month start-up period is planned. The mechanical dewatering installation has to be operational in April 2011.

The contract has been awarded to the temporary trade association SeReAnt, comprising the environmental companies DEC and Envisan, bolstered by their 'parent companies ', the dredging companies Dredging International and Jan De Nul.
SeReAnt is in charge of working out the details for the design and construction of the installations.
Subsequent to the planned construction period of 30 calendar months, SeReAnt will be able to operate the installation for the next 15 years.

The customer is calling upon the services of the temporary association MWH-Seghers Keppel for reviewing the detailed design.

Safety coordination is the responsibility of COOR.

BOVA Environment Consulting has been appointed as the disposal site expert for the development of the storage location at the sand extraction pit.
