Project

AMORAS offers a sustainable and long-term solution for treating and storing maintenance dredging material from the Port of Antwerp. Under the project the sand in the maintenance dredging material is separated via hydrocyclones and recovered. The remaining fine silt fraction is mechanically dewatered with membrane chamber filter presses. The filtrate water is purified in a water purification installation before being discharged in the docks. The pressed filter cakes are stored under controlled conditions in a new storage site to be set up in the port area. Nonetheless, the aim is for these filter cakes to be redeployed for waste upgrading purposes.
Further details about the various sites and project components are featured in 'Description '.
